Retreat Confirmation 20

May 5, 2020

All confirmation candidates must participate in a retreat prior to receipt of the sacrament.  This is a personal retreat for you to complete at home.  FInd a time when you will not be distracted or disturbed.  There are 3 major parts to be completed.  They all do not need to be finished at the same time.  All involve writing, so have paper and a pen available, or use your computer to open to a word file.   Specific directions will be added before each part.  The retreat  must be completed and paperwork returned to the rectory by May 20, 2020.

If you have questions or need printed copies,, please contact me directly.

Start the retreat by taking time to clear your mind and focus on God.A retreat is time away from the outside world for prayer and reflection, but since we cannot pray together , I compiled  this playlist of songs for your reflection and enjoyment. These songs all are prayers and reflections with an emphasis on the Holy Spirit and discipleship. Unfortunately , a few start with ads, which you will have to click "skip" before the music starts.

UPDATE:  CONFIRMATION WILL NOT BE ON MAY 31 AS PLANNED. THE DATE IS UNKNOWN AS OF MAY 3, 2020

THE ON-LINE RETREAT WILL BE POSTED ON 5/3/2020 AND DUE ON MAY 17, 2020.  ALL OTHER PAPERWORK WAS DUE ON APRIL 27!

Although our Confirmation date is still set for May 31, 2020, please understand there is a possibility that it will be changed.  The decision will be made after the Governor and Mayor  decide if the state and city are still on STAY-AT-Home protocols after April 30. If not, the Cardinal and Bishops will assess if the crowd size at the service can be controlled to the limit set  as well as the rescheduled dates of all Confirmations formerly planned for March and April.  You will be informed as soon as our parish is informed.  In the interim, the Confirmation retreat originally scheduled for April 25 has been cancelled.  Instead, Cynthia Splatt and I are working on planning a retreat for you to work on at home.  I will post this information on Friday April 24.  Please set aside several hours on April 25 to participate in the retreat  which will include prayers, videos, and reflection worksheets.
